Congratulations to John Hawthorne, editor of Philosophical Perspectives, for his recent grant award from the John Templeton Foundation! Prof. Hawthorne will lead a project titled “New Insights and Directions for Religious Epistemology” that seeks to revitalize the field by drawing on recent developments in mainstream epistemology. Valued at £1.3 million, the award will support three postdoctoral researchers, three PhD students, 22 visiting research fellowships, nine public lectures, four roundtable discussions, six workshops, and a major international conference.
if the basis of your knowledge is of the knowledge of good and evil – the knowledge gained through experience, then you are deceived and possess no knowledge – this untruth does not KNOW God [1 Cor 1:21] and at best it will merely exchange one belief for another yet in the end you will be none the wiser for it. For when all you possess is like a ball of play doh – how many times must you reform it to discern nothing has changed?
Do not be deceieved – knowledge is not open to interpretation. [What is known cannot be changed if it is truly known]. You may try to “interpret” meaning, but this is always open to error because it refers to the perception of meaning. Such incongruities are the result of attempts to regard “YOU” as separated and unseparated at the same time. It is impossible to make so fundamental a confusion without increasing your overall confusion still further… as always happens when method and content are separated, it is utilized in a futile attempt to escape from an inescapable impasse.” [ACIM <–something that will never "seen" by those whose eyes are stayed on the "the wise man, the scholar, and the philosopher of this age" 1 Cor 1:20]
To interpret an interpretation merely exchanges the exact same content to appear in different form – like reforming play-doh – in the end all you ever had was the same one ball of play-doh [as Conservation testifies to] and one never really went anyhere but in circles – which gives the false impression of progress as something "new" just because you were doing something… yet all that is ever done is merely the re-interpretation of the same one mis-intepretation over and over again expecting a different result.
Who has eyes to see and ears to hear? For if it is the case that what Heraclitus said: "Change alone is unchanging" is true – then change being unchanging testifies that nothing actually changes. There is nothing new under the sun – "new insights" has merely re-interpreted what was already done before- and given that appears to give "new direction" is the result of the cunningness of deception. If ALL roads have the same one beginning and lead to the same one end then the many roads of distraction are as meaningless as they appear to change making the interpreter believe he is going somewhere other than where this new road will inevitably lead.
Oh how they do love to work by the sweat of their brow to reap their thorn and thistle – praising their many words of wisdom "as if" it were not foolishness. Forgive them Father for they "KNOW NOT" what they "DO"!
The irony of deception ought to win an Academy Award for best director, best "original" screenplay, and best "visual" effects – for surely nothing has "survived" longer than this generation of the deceived "playing" right into its hands as puppets on a string!
